ISIS attacks Kabul International Airport: 14 people killed

Kabul July 23: A suicide bomber attacked the Kabul international airport just after the arrival of Vice President Abdul Rasheed Dostam. Atleast 14 people were killed and over 60 injured in the incident.

Senior government officials, political leaders and their supporters arrived to welcome Abdul Rashid Dostam. The attack occurred during this time. Eyewitnesses said that such an attack was being executed for the first time.

Spokesperson Bashir Ahmed Tayanj said that Dostam who was traveling in a Western suit and armored vehicle and was not injured.

“At least 14 people were killed and over 60 injured in the incident. 9 security personnel and traffic police have died” says police spokesman Hasmat Stanik Joy.

The ISIS terrorist organization has taken responsibility for the attack. Dostam has been charged with alleged human rights abuses in Afghanistan. He has been living in Turkey since 2017 and had arrived in a plane.

People have lost faith in the Government and will protest against dostam said the protesters. To gain support for the next year’s presidential elections in the North and Central Uzbekistan, President Ashraf Ghani has requested Dostam to return to the country.
