Mysore-based woman in Shimla hospital: CM advices to bring her back

BANGALORE:24 July 2018:  Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has been ordered Mysore District Officials to bring back a mysore based woman, who is currently under treatment at Shimla Hospital in Himachal Pradesh for the past two years.

The woman, who was away from her husband, was mentally ill and had gone to Himachal Pradesh without her knowledge. The news was reported in the media a few days ago that the woman was being treated at Shimla Hospital for the last two years.

When the Chief Minister recently visited Delhi, the media informed the chief minister and requested him to bring back the woman back to her home town

Kumaraswamy spoke to Deputy Commissioners of Mysore today and asked them to bring the women to safely and provide proper treatment and shelter.

Mysore district collectors have taken action to bring the woman back to the state and are in contact with the hospital authorities. The Chief Minister’s Office said that arrangements for the woman’s treatment have been done and later on shall provide shelter to her.

The woman was absconding from her husband from Periyapatna taluk and was found on the street of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. She was admitted to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College in Kangra. Later in June 2016 she was shifted to the Himachal Mental Health and Rehabilitation Hospital. It was revealed that they were not able to contact people of her town because of the language problem.
