Yamuna rises to dangerous levels in Delhi

NEW DELHI: The Yamuna river raised today above the danger mark in Delhi and warning has been issued in the national capital. The weather department has warned that continuous rainfall over the last three days will be even more blistering.

The Department of Irrigation has made preperations to evacuate low-lying dwellers to safer sites.

The Yamuna river, on the 27th of July, has reached Delhi’s old railway bridge at 204.10 meters, with all indications of crossing the danger level, said the East Delhi district administration.

NDRF  and Defense are prepared to swing into action if any need occurs to move people to safety. Officials said that rapid response teams are ready in case of any emergency
