Infosys foundation chairperson and TTD Trust Board member Sudha Murthy came forward to donate books worth Rs 2.5 cr to students of 1725 primary schools and 842 high schools in both Krishna and Guntur districts of Andhra Pradesh. The philanthropist decided to distribute the books contains moral education values under 250 titles to primary schools and 300 titles to high schools.
It may be noted that Sudha Murthy distributed books worth Rs 3 cr in 54 schools of Vijayawada municipal corporation and 45 govt and zilla parishad schools last year. Sudha Murthy a great social worker is instrumental in development of 60000 libraries in Karnataka.
Praising the services of Sudha Murthy Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said Infosys has been providing a helping hand in his mission to transform AP as a knowledge hub. He thanked Sudha Murthy for selecting AP for her service programmes and stated that her move would turn as an inspiration to several others.
