Rahul to reward Siddaramaiah with LS seat

Though former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah failed to retain power in recent assembly polls, Congress president seems to be impressed with his election and administrative related managerial skills. Thats why he was rewarded him by making him as member of Congress Working Committee. Now, it seems Rahul is keen to make him to contest in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Though, he failed to keep Congress continue in power, Rahul felt he suceeded in containing BJP from forming government in the state, as not a single Congress MLA succumbed to their attractions. Moreover, he managed to get 80 seats for the party despite the anti-incumbency factor.

Rahul is aware that both former prime minister HD Devagouda and his son Kumaraswamy are determined to check Siddaramaiah’s interests in the state and JDS ministers are making hectic moves to revive all appointments and schemes initiated by Congress government. However, for the larger interests of Congress party, he was advised to keep restraint till 2019 polls. This was made clear when Siddaramaiah asked his `agitating’ supporters to wait till Lok Sabha polls.

Ignoring Kumaraswamy’s reservations, Rahul had already assigned hims two crucial roles in the state to keep Congress alive. He was made as Congress Legislature Party leader and also became Chairperson of Coordination and Monitoring Committee that looks `political coordination’ between Congress and JDS.

Siddaramaiah is also said to be not keen to continue in state politics and is getting ready to contest in Lok Sabha polls, so that to play crucial role in the formation of Congress-led government at the Center, if the party succeeded in defeating BJP.
