Congress to ‘expose’ Modi regime’s corruption

The Congress Working Committee today decided to launch a public campaign highlighting Narendra Modi Government’s corrupt practices, particularly issues related to bank scam, rafale deal and “bad” state of the economy. It has decided to go all out in highlighting the issue of corruption both inside and outside Parliament. Chaired by Rahul Gandhi, it also chalked out a strategy on the crucial issue of Assam’s National Register of Citizens (NRC).

While, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi was unable to attending the meeting, it was attended by senior leaders include Dr Manmohan Singh, A K Antony, Ghulam Nabi Aza, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sheila Dikshit, Ahmed Patel and Ashok Gehlot. “The CWC met today. As a team, we discussed the political situation in the country and the huge opportunity for the Congress to highlight issues of corruption and failure of the government to provide jobs to our youth. Thank you to all those who attended today’s meeting,” Gandhi said on Twitter.

The Congress alleged that the government’s ‘complicity and connivance’ in helping Mehul Choksi escape has been exposed and quoted Antiguan authorities who said that Indian agencies gave no unfavourable information against Mehul Choksi when a background check was conducted before granting the billionaire his citizenship.
