Taking strong exception for Congress making Rafel deal as a major campaign to `expose’ prime minister Narendra Modi for 2019 polls, Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani, has accused that Congress preisdent Rahul Gandhi is being mislead by his corporate rivals, in this regard.
In a letter shooted to the Congress chief, after his first letter during last December, Anil Ambani alleged that Rahul Gandhi was “misinformed, misdirected and misled” by malicious, vested interests and corporate rivals on the Rafale offset exports share. In his letter, Ambani had expressed deep anguish over continued personal attacks on the Rafale issue and. He dismissed all such allegations as “baseless, ill-informed and unfortunate”.
Resonding to Congress’s allegations that Ambani’s company, formed days before being awarded the Rafale contract, lacked experience, the letter statede that no contract from the Ministry of Defence has been awarded to any company in the Reliance Group relating to the Rafale jets.and also added that “no contract exists with the government of India.”
Anil Ambani also asserted that his company is limited to offset exports/export obligations. More than 100 medium, small and micro enterprises (MSMEs) will participate in this, along with public sector undertakings like BEL and Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO). This role strengthens Indian manufacturing capabilities, and is in pursuance of the Offsets Policy introduced by the Congress-led UPA Government itself from 2005 onwards, he added.
