Telangana Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao is on election mood. Though he has given signals to advance assembly polls scheduled to be held along with Lok Sabha polls to December-end along with four other assemblies going on polls, now seems to be indecissive.
Two days ago, he held extensive cabinet meeting for over seven hours seeking minister’s views on poll preparedness and today held party’s extensive meeting attended by party MLAs, MPs and other leaders. In these meetings, he has given call to party cadre to prepare to face polls at any time.
He is intending to launch is party poll campaign on September 2, by organising a massive public meeting with over 25 lakh people on the outskirts of Hyderabad city, named as `Pragati Nivedana’ (Progress Report). He also announced that party candidates will be announced by September-end or October-begining.
Meanwhile, he said he will be on campaign tour for 50 days, covering 100 assembly constituencies, two per a day. The schedule will be finalised very soon. He is stating that various poll surveys commissioned by him assured to win over 100 seats, among a total seats of 117. However, party circles confirms that several ministers advised him against advancing polls, which may be costly to the party.
