Dusky actress Nayantara is the first south Indian actress who has claimed share in the business of her film, besides her normal remuneration. Other actress insists only on quantum of their remuneration. But, she started a new trend in southern film world.
She has taken a share in the business of her latest film ‘Kolomavu Kokila’ produced by Lyca Productions. The ‘Dora’ actress has reportedly pocketed Rs 2 crore share in the business of her latest release `CoCo Kokila’ (in Telugu) which is being released today in two Telugustates. This amount is besides her remuneration of Rs 1 crore.
Normally actresses demand Rs 1 or Rs 2 crore per film as remuneration and they have nothing to do with the profits made by their respective producers. But Nayantara earned fame as a female superstar with a slew of blockbusters like ‘Maaya’ and `Aram’ in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the two Telugu, has started a new trend.
