Rich tributes paid to Dr YSR

Rich tributes were paid to former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy on his death anniversary by his family members, well-wishers and Party leaders who recalled his services to the poor and all sections of people, who led by YSRCP Honorary President YS Vijayamma, YS Bharathi, YS Sharmila and other paid tributes at the YSR Ghat in his native village Idupulapayi of Kadapa district.

Where as his son and YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy paid homage in Annavaram village of Visakhapatnam district, where his Praja Sankalpa Yatra is in progress.

At the YSR Ghat after paying floral tributes, former chief minister’s wife YS Vijayamma said, ‘YSR has served the people and was always caring for the poor and downtrodden. That is the singular reason for him to win a place in the hearts of the people, who still remember and revere him as all sections have benefited by his welfare schemes. She asserted that their son YS Jagan is also toeing the same path and will be taking all the welfare measures his father has undertaken and will bring back the golden era YSR.

Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that YSR has shown him the path and he has been walking in his footsteps and will carry forward his ideals. Among those who paid tributes at the YSR Ghat were former MPs YV Subba Reddy, Avinash Reddy, MLAs G Srikanth Reddy, Amjad Basha, Kadapa Mayor Suresh BAbu and A Amarnath Reddy.

At the Central office in Hyderabad, party senior leader Ummareddy Venkateswarlu recalled his association with late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy and lauded his vision and welfare measures he had taken while he was at the helm of affairs. Dr YSR was always with the people from his early days and was providing medical aid for just one rupee. He was often called as one-rupee-doctor by the poor.

‘He was an invincible leader and has always won the hearts of the people,’ he said. Telangana Party leader Gattu Srikanth Reddy, Party Legal Cell chief Sudhakar Reddy were among those who lauded the services of Dr YSR.
