The Chief Minister, accompanied by his cabinet members met Governor ESL Narasimhan this afternoon and submitted a resolution adopted in the Cabinet meeting held earlier. The resolution was adopted at a meeting of the State Cabinet that lasted less than half an hour and was chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at his camp office at Pragati Bhavan. From the cabient meeting itself he proceeded to Raj Bhavan in a bus, along with cabient coleagues to meet the Governor. Later, KCR then proceeded to the Telangana Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park near the Assembly and paid tributes. Immediately, Governor has dissolved the Assembly.
Governor ESL Narasimhan has asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to continue as the care-taker Chief Minister of Telangana State following the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly. Meanwhile, the Legislature Secretariat issued a notification dissolving the State Assembly, with immediate effect saying that the Council of Ministers of Telangana State continue as caretaker of the Government of Telangana.
This decision by the State Cabinet brought the curtains down on the first elected Legislative Assembly of Telangana State. Elections to the Telangana Assembly were held in April and May of 2014 as part of the polls to the Assembly of the then united Andhra Pradesh.
Prior to this decision, KCR has formulated detailed action plan for the assembly polls. He also decided to address about 100 public meetings called ‘Praja Deevana Sabhas’ in 50 days. These will be in Assembly constituencies beginning at Husnabad on September 7, where he will sound the poll bugle.
TRS sources indicates that KCR will embark on a state-wide tour shortly, and that the public meeting at Husnabad in Siddipet district could officially be the launch of TRS’ election campaign. KCR will seek blessings of the people to rule the state for a second term.
