The two-day BJP national executive meeting started in New Delhi today coining the slogan “Ajey BJP” (Invincible BJP) for the 2019 Lok Sabha poll, vowed to work to ensure the party’s return to power in the Lok Sabha elections with a bigger victory than 2014 when it had won a majority on its own for the first time in its electoral history,.
Earlier, the slogan of “Ajey BJP” (Invincible BJP) was adopted at the meeting of the party’s national office bearers and also presidents of its state units. They pledged to work for the party’s victory in assembly polls in five states and a decision was taken to give extra emphasis on the elections in Telangana, which is likely to go the polls with states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
BJP sources said that the party is confident of returning to power with more number of seats than it won in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. BJP president Amit Shah asserted that “We will come with an absolute majority. Sankalp ki shakti ko koi parajit nahi kar sakta,”. The BJP national executive is meeting almost after a year.
With the 2019 Lok Sabha election around the corner, the BJP is expected to address the opposition’s combined attack on the Modi government over various issues, such as the rise in oil prices, at this meet.
Attended by key BJP leaders from across the country and the national leadership, the meeting is also expected to see the party strategise for the upcoming state assembly polls and the Lok Sabha elections. Three major resolutions concerning politics and economy are set to be taken up at the meet,
Party president Amit Shah gave the inaugural address today, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to deliver the valedictory address tomorrow in the presence of top party leaders.
