The Congress leadership failing to pacify its discontent Minister Ramesh Jarakiholi, is worried with many more MLAs are also stated to be are in touch with leader of opposition and state BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa. According to `Deccan Chronicle’, as many as 17 Congress MLAs are in touch with the opposition leader.
Yeddyurappa, having failed to prove his majority in the assembly after Assembly elections in May, this year for want of seven more MLAs, is now seems to be confident again to form a government in the state ahead of forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. If all things goes on well, present JD (S) – Congress coalition, headed by H D Kumaraswamy, is bound to collapse before Vijayadasami, next month.
Congress leadership is aware that the Yeddyurappa has been approaching all discontent Congress legislators, besides an independent MLA. Ironically, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who has just returned from his 12-day Europe tour, also seems to be indifferent towards rebellious Congress legislators. It may be recalled he is the chairman of the coordination committee of the coalition. and expected to ensure smooth functioning of the government.
However, BJP leadership seems to be cautious in making hectic moves in this regard and not in hurry to destabilise the present government. It is waiting for an opportunity to facilitate collapse of this government on its own, giving way for a temporary presidential rule.
