Bengal BJP chief’s car vandalised

West Bengal BJP state President Dilip Ghosh’s car was vandalised today by miscreants when BJP and TMC workers came face to face at Contai in East Midnapore district. Dilip Ghosh was in the city to attend a BjP meet in Janamangal Samiti meeting hall near Contai bus stand. A TMC party office is located right in front of the hall.

TMC workers started to show black flags as soon as BJP cars started to come in.  This enraged BJP workers who started protesting. Soon, it lead to a scuffle between workers of two parties and around 15 cars were vandalised in the process. 5 people from both sides were injured, Out of them, 3 people are critical.

Dilip Ghosh was promptly escorted out of harm’s way by his securitymen. Strongly condemning the highhandedness of TMC cadre, he lamented that “TMC is unable to stop us democratically and is using goons and police to intimidate us by showing their muscle power”

The state BJP president said three of his partymen have received injuries in the attack.  “The TMC workers broke the window panes of my car and damaged 15 motorbikes that were a part of the contingent accompanying me. Three of our workers have received serious injuries in the attack”, he added.

The BJP leader also said that he had faced similar attacks on earlier occasions. “We are prepared for it. We know they will anything to stop the BJP. This is the kind of situation we have been facing in Bengal,” he said.  He alleged that local TMC MP Dibyendu Adhikari and police officers were present at the spot when his car was attacked by the miscreants. Adhikari, however, refuted the allegations and said he was nowhere near the site of the incident.
