BSP to fight alone in MP, Rajasthan

Giving a big shock to Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who is making sincere efforts for unity among opposition parties to defeat BJP, BSP supreme Mayawati today declared that her party will contest separately rately in the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. She had already anounced that her party will fight in Chhattisgarh in alliance with Ajit Jogi’s party.

Though both Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gangi are sincire to formulate alliances with other parties, she alleged that some Congress leaders are coming on the way. Particularly targeting Congress senior leader Digvijaya Singh, she said that such leaders are now allowing for such alliances.  She alleged that such leaders are afraid of agencies like ED, CBI. Mayawati dubbed Digivijaya Singh as RSS agent and denied that she is under pressure from Centre to not tie-up with Congress.

Mayawati said the BSP loses out more than it would gain from an alliance with the Congress. “In Rajasthan, the Congress was offering us only nine seats out of 200 assembly seats, in Madhya Pradesh 15-20 (out of 230 seats in the state), in Chhattisgarh only 5-6 seats out of 90. We have noticed that whenever we have contested an election in alliance, all our votes get transferred to Congress,” she said.

Accusing that Congress of getting arrogant and is under misconception that they can defeat BJP on their own, she warned that the ground reality is that people haven’t forgiven Congress party for their mistakes and corruption. She alleged that Congress is not ready to do a course correction and announced that BSP will fight separately in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. She said that like BJP, Congress is also trying to destroy BSP.
