Assembly poll results on Dec 11 in 5 states

Four states in India–Mizoram, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh will simultaneously go for polls in November this year, the Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat announced today.  Model code of conduct will come into force in all the four states with immediate effect, Rawat added.

The election for Chhattisgarh will be conducted in two phases. Election to Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Telangana and Rajasthan will be held in a single phase. The counting of votes will take place on December 11. For Chhattisgarh, the first pahse, notification for the polls would be issued on – 16th October. Last date for filing of nominations – 23rd October. Last date of withdrawal of candidates – 26th October and the polling will be held on November 10.

For the second phase (Northern part), notification for the polls would be issued on – 26th October. Last date for filing of nominations – 2nd November. Last date of withdrawal of candidates – 5th November and polling will be held on November 20. For Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram, notification for the polls would be issued on – 2nd November. Last date for filing of nominations – 9th November. Last date of withdrawal of candidates – 14th November and polling will be held on November 28.

For Rajasthan and Telangana, notification for the polls would be issued on – 4th November. Last date for filing of nominations – 19th November. Last date of withdrawal of candidates – 22nd November and polling will be held on November 7. Elections in Telangana were necessitated after chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao dissolved the assembly in September.
