Two Goa Congress MLAs to join BJP !

Being alert with opposition Congress attempts to resort for a cup in Goa politics, taking advantage from prolonged illness of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, since last February, BJP has started defensive operation by focusing on the governance in the state.

It may be recalled that last month Congress has approached Governor to form the government in the state with the support of few legislators, who are now supporting BJP, accusing that the government in the state was collapsed due to Parrikar’s illness.

Immediately, BJP started attempts to streamline the government by removing two ministers, who were also in hospitals since a long time and Parrikar had conducted cabinet meeting at AIIMS in New Delhi itself, last week. Later, he was shifted to Goa, having medicare form his home itself. It makes him possible to monitor day to day governance issues from his house.

BJP is also seems to be succeeded in attracting two Congress MLAs to shift their loyalties to BJP. Two Goa Congress legislators Dayanand Sopte and Subhash Shirodkar, last midnight left for Delhi amidst speculations that they may join the BJP.

A senior BJP leader said they were likely to meet BJP president Amit Shah in the national capital. They are expected to resign from Congress party and join BJP. This makes Congress impossible to make any further move in the state to form its government.
