Four men caught ‘snooping’ outside Alok Verma’s house

Four men in plain cloths were detained outside CBI director Alok Verma’s official bungalow in Delhi this morning. They were allegedly spying on the exiled CBI boss. They were caught by the Verma’s security men at 6 am, outside 2, Janpath bungalow. The four men found with the identity cards of Intelligence Bureau were then handed over to the Delhi Police.

The IB sources, however, denied that their officers were outside Verma’s residence. “IB units are routinely deployed on open patrol duty on a regular basis in high-security zones in Delhi. We are checking on what the exact situation was,” an official said.

The ‘spying’ comes a day after high-voltage drama at the CBI Headquarters. In late night developments, Verma and his deputy Rakesh Asthana were sent on leave by the Department of Personnel and Training.Joint Director M Nageswara Rao was appointed as the interim CBI boss.
