In a major setback to BJP, the Madhya Pradesh state intelligence department has reportedly predicted that Shivraj Singh Chouhan government is facing hard tasks in the forthcoming assembly polls and Congress is surely ahead of BJP.
The BJP sources said to be shocked with the secret report that was submitted to the Chief Minister on October 30, the intelligence department predicted that the Congress party is ahead of the ruling BJP in 128 of the 230 Vidhan Sabha seats. The BJP is likely to win 92 seats, while Mayawati’s BSP is ahead in six seats, and Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party (SP) is ahead in three seats. Whereas, the Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP) is ahead in one seat.
The report also said that as many as ten state ministers including Rustam Singh, Maya Singh, Gauri Shankar Shejwar and Surya Prakash Meena have slim chances of winning. Interestingly, Surya Prakash Meena, who is considered to be very close to CM Chouhan, has withdrawn from the race for the party ticket.
While most of poll surveys are predicting that BJP is ahead of the Congress or even giving a tough fight to come back, the intelligence department has given sufficiant caution stating the ground realities are not favouring for BJP’s return.
