Former minister and TDP senior leader NMD Farooq and Kidari Sravan Kumar sworn in as ministers of AP state cabinet in Amaravati, today. Governor ESL Narasimhan administered the oath in a swearing in ceremony held at Praja Vedika today in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
TDP senior leader NMD Farooq served as minister twice during NTR and Chandrababu regime in the past. He was nominated to council in 2017 and elected as chairman of the legislative council in November last year. Farooq hails from Nandyal in Kurnool district. He also served as vice president of Nandyal municipality.
Kidari Sravan Kumar is son of Araku MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao, who was gunned down by Maoists recently. He is an IIT graduate from Banaras University. He was inducted into the cabinet as per the promise of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to do justice to the slain MLAs family.
While, Farooq was allotted Medical and Health and Minority Affairs ministeries, Sravan Kumar was given Tribal Welfare ministry. Social Welfare Minister Nakka Ananda Babu, who was holding tribal welfare also till now, is given additional charge of Cinimatography.
