Ahead of the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, the BJP today levelled corruption charges against Congress state unit president Kamal Nath. It called him as the main face of the `rice exports scam’. If Congress wins in the polls, he will be a strong contender to head the government.
BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao alleged that while Kamal Nath was a minister and involved in scams, he was shielded by a person, that person was Rahul Gandhi. Stating that the case was not handed over to CBI, he charged that to save its face, Congress hatched conspiracy.
Rao also said that Kamal Nath’s name was also appeared when Niira Radia tapes were leaked in connection with 2G Scam. Though his true form as a `minister of 15 % commission’ was exposed, he lamented that even then he was not removed from the cabinet because he is very close to Rahul Gandhi.
