Rahul yet to approve Karnataka’s cabinet expansion

Though Karnataka Congress leaders are awaiting for early cabinet expansion after over coming several hurdles, now they are worried that it may not be possible before the beginning of the winter session in Belagavi, to be held on December 10. IT was due to pre-occupation of party chief Rahul Gandhi with poll campaign in five states and he may not be free to discuss the issue with state leaders before second week of December.

Karnataka deputy chief minister G Parameshwara said today that till they could not get approval from the party chief on cabinet expansion. He said they are yet to discuss the same with him.

Last week, AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka Venugopal held talks with Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Dinesh Gundu Rao and other state leaders regarding the cabinet expansion. After this, the state leaders had urged the high command to exercise the procedure of cabinet expansion before the winter session.

“We have already conveyed this to KC Venugopal..he is supposed to discuss the matter with Rahul Gandhi,” said the deputy chief minister. Recently, state Congress chief Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the much-awaited expansion of the H D Kumaraswamy-led coalition cabinet would take place within this month.
