BJP Women leader says party MLA sexually harassed her

The #MeToo campaign rocking Jharkhand BJP after a women leader of the party has accused that party’s MLA sexually harassed her. According to several local meda reports, she was party’s women wing Mahila Morcha state unit leader and accused against Baghmara MLA Dullu Mahto.

The woman reportedly also attempted self-immolation, citing inaction by the party and the police even after she filed an FIR on October 31.

State co-ordinator and social media cell in-charge for Jharkhand Congress Mayur Shekhar Jha has tweeted a video, in which the woman can be seen crying inconsolably. She is seen accusing the MLA of touching her inappropriately on her cheeks and waist, and molesting her in his office.

The tweet said: “#MeToo moment for Jharkhand BJP. Rather tragic. Party’s women wing leader attempted self-immolation. Made serious sexual harassment allegations on MLA Dullu Mahto, considered close to CM @dasraghubar But true to its character, entire state machinery is now all out to silence her.”

“This is my first warning. Give me justice or I will go to the chief minister’s office. My third warning will be in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the woman can be seen saying in the video. According to a local media report, the woman has also said that she and her husband have been continuously getting death threats.
