External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj came down hard on her Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi for his “googly” remark, saying it “exposed” him and that Pakistan has no respect for Sikh sentiments
In a series of tweets, Swaraj said,”Mr.Foreign Minister of Pakistan – Your ‘googly’ remarks in a dramatic manner has exposed none but YOU. This shows that you have no respect for Sikh sentiments. You only play ‘googlies’.” “Let me explain to you that we were not trapped by your ‘googlies’. Our two Sikh Ministers went to Kartarpur Sahib to offer prayers in the Holy Gurudwara”, she said.
Meanwhile, atleast three Punjab ministers demanded their colleague Navjyot Singh Siddu to resign from the cabinet, following his comments that Chief Minister Cpt. Amarender Singh was not his `captain’, but it was party chief Rahul Gandhi.
Two days ago, in Hyderabad when media persons asked him how can he proceed to Pakistan when his chief minister advised not to go there, Siddu replied that it was not Amarender, but Rahul was his `captain’. He was in Hyderabad that Rahul permitted him to attend Karthapur Corridor inauguration event in Pakistan.
However, later he amended his own statement, statement that Rahul didn’t permitted him to go there, but he went on his own. Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has expressed his displeasure over Siddu’s controversial acts.
