December 1 is marked as world AIDS Awareness DAY. It is celebrated every year to educate the public as well specific communities, who are more prone to be exposed for H.I.V virus like sex workers, transgenders etc.

HIV is a virus, named HUMAN IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS that attacks cells in the immune system which is our body’s natural defense against illness. These HIV viruses destroys a type of white blood cells called T- helper cells.

If HIV is left untreated it may take 10 -15 years for the immune system to be severely damaged that it can no longer defend itself. However, the process varies depending on the age, gender, mental and physical status of the effected person.

AIDS is the last stage of HIV. AIDS is a set of symptoms caused by HIV. Here the effected person’s immune system will have become too weak by then to fight against other dreadful microbes further making him more prone to life-threatening disease like Tuberculosis, pneumonia etc.

Although at present there is no cure for HIV, with the right treatment and support, people living with HIV can enjoy long and healthy lives.

HIV OR AIDS is at present incurable disease; however, Ayurveda aims at strengthening the immunity of  HIV positive patient through Immunomodulator medicine, Ojus building therapies and certain Anti-Virus herbal combination.

HIV spreads from person to person through the following way-

  1. Having Unprotected sex with the partner already effected with HIV/AIDS
  2. By contact with HIV/AIDS infected blood
  3. From mother to child (during pregnancy, childbirth or by breast feeding)


Around 2-4 weeks after getting infected by HIV, some people will experience symptoms that is more like the symptoms of FLU-

  1. Fever
  2. Body rash
  3. Sore throat
  4. Joint pain
  5. Muscle pain

AIDS is the last stage of HIV-


  • Severe weight loss
  • Chronic Diarrhoea
  • Persistent cough
  • Mouth and Skin problems
  • Regular illness
  • Giddiness

To build happy and Healthy society it is very essential to prevent the spread of HIV. ON this WORLD AIDS DAY let’s spread the awareness of AIDS to the society and save mankind.
