Congress questions Shivraj’s Rs 800 cr loan attempts before results

Congress has questioned Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on his government’s attempts to borrow Rs 800 crore, just couple of days ahead of poll results. It wondered that why the government could not wait for 6 to 7 days, to take loan ?

Congress reminded that there is already a loan of Rs 1.75 lakh crore on the state government. Official sources of the state government said that in order to get the incomplete work done, the loan is being borrowed from the market of Rs 800 crore. This loan will be for the next 10 years.

BJP spokesperson Rahul Kothari said that this loan is being taken keeping in mind the needs of the state. The goal of the present government is to work for every section of the society and it is an ongoing process.

Congress spokesperson Durgesh Sharma said, “This government is hell bent on bringing the state under more debt. The fresh mandate is about to come, therefore there is no justification for taking such a loan. This government days are limited and therefore it is taking a loan. The government will go away with debt, but the burden will fall on the people of the state.

Polling was conducted in the state on November 28 and counting will take place on December 11. The government is going to organise a cabinet meeting is scheduled for today. The Congress has questioned the functioning of the government and has also complained to the Election Commission, as Code of Conduct is applicable at this time.
