Kamal Nath stakes claim to form govt. in MP

Madhya Pradesh Congress President and former Union Minister  Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia today met Governor Anandiben Patel and staked claim to form the government with the support of 122 MLAs,  after the Congress emerged as the single largest party in the state Assembly Election 2018 results.

“We have met Governor and staked claim to form government, we have the support of 122 MLAs, the situation is clear,” Congress leader Narendra Saluja said. They met the Governor few hours after Shivraj Singh Chouhan tendered his resignation as chief minister.

The Congress which emerged victorious on 114 seats, two short of the magic figure, in Madhya Pradesh got the support by BJP and Samajwadi Party (SP).

In Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, the newly-elected MLAs of the Congress are meeting to discuss on the CM face for both the states. “Whatever the MLAs have to say they will say in the meeting and final decision is left to the Congress president and other party leaders. We will take a call today,” Rajasthan Congress Committee president Sachin Pilot, said.

He also added that the party will stake claim to form the government in Rajasthan in the evening. “We have full majority and will stake claim to form government in the evening. We will take along all non-BJP parties and elected members who are against BJP and are willing to support us,” he added.
