In tune with the opposition’s accusations that Telangana chief minister K chandarasekhr Rao had advanced the Assembly polls only to ensure smooth succession of political power to his minister-son K T Rama Rao, he was elected as TRS Working President.
Soon after tasting a thumping victory in the recent state assembly polls, Telangana Rashtra Samithi supremo \Rao appointed his son KT Rama Rao as the party’s working president. This appointment was made immediately after his sworn-in as chief minister, yesterday, for the second consecutive term
Till now practically, KTR has no `official role’ in the ruling party, except being the IT, Industries and Municipal Administration minister in father’s cabinet. The three-time MLA, Rao joined his father in political arena in 2009, leaving his job in USA, when the Telangana statehood movement was at peak.
As after polls, KCR had expressed his intention to concentrate on national politics, from now onwards and attempt to form a new national front against both BJP and Congress, he has hinted out that practically all political and administrative affairs in the state would be talked by his son only.
In recent polls, KTR was inchargae for Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts, where the party had won 18 of 29 seats, as against 5 seats in 2014.
