Causing embarrassment to Congress president Rahul Gandhi, his close aide Nikhil Alva  was booked for stalking and sending vulgar mails to a neighbour in his tony Gurugram residential society. A women of his society lodged complaint against him in this regard.

He is `gatekeeper’ of Rahul’s Twitter handle. He is also son of senior Congress leader and former Rajasthan governor Margaret Alva. The 44-year-old woman has also accused police of delaying action on her complaint which was filed on December 4 and only now has been converted into a First Information Report (FIR). The FIR was lodged at DLF Phase-III police station.

Meanwhile, the Haryana State Women’s Commission took cognisance of the matter. According to ice-chairperson of the Commission, Preeti Bhardwaj it  had swung into action over the complaint filed by the aggrieved woman. “We shall be writing to the Gurguram police on Wednesday to ask for the action taken report in the matter,”  she said.

The complaied women accused the Gurugram police of dragging its feet in taking action against Alva. “I had filed my FIR with the DLF Phase-3 police station on December 4. But till date, nothing has happened against Alva. I had tendered all the evidence, which is, by the way, clinching, to the police. I had also recorded my statement in front of a magistrate under Section 164,” she added.

In her complainant she said, “Nikhil Alva has wilfully, deliberately, intentionally and maliciously posted emails on various groups with unwelcome sexual overtones using highly inappropriate and grossly offensive language despite a clear indication of disinterest from my side and advice to stop using loose expressions, obnoxious language in the emails.”

“Nikhil Alva, on various email groups of residents, which were created to act as an internal platform for discussions on various issues arising in the Lagoon Complex in which more than 343 members are part of, including me and Alva, has repeatedly, maliciously targeted me with an intent and motive to cast false and incorrect aspersions from last three years,” she added. However, Alva has dismissed the allegations as “false and politically motivated”.
