Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who had quit BJP-led NDA few months ago and is now on a mission to bring out anti-BJP front, ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha polls, took severe exception to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s regime.
He branded Modi as a “negative character”, who spoiled the Indian economy and called his government a “total disaster”. Alleging that the nation felt cheated because of the Centre’s policies, he said the BJP was spoiling the nation. Naidu went to the extent of stating that anybody will be better to head the nation, than Modi.
Speaking on the second day of India Today Conclave South at Visakhapatnam today, Naidu said that the state of economy and social indicators are proofs of the outcome of the government’s policies.
“Modi says he is very strong. But what has he done for the nation? The people are not getting proper sleep. The government’s initiatives such as Start Up India and Stand Up India are mere slogans,” he added.
Naidu accused the Modi government of misusing power by using central agencies such as the CBI, ED and Income-tax department. This was the biggest difference, he said.
The Modi government, he said, does not respect any democratic institutions. The agencies in Andhra Pradesh are better than the CBI, he claimed. He accused the central agencies of threatening and blackmailing politicians and businessmen.
