Ramesh Jarkiholi move to resign as MLA, joins BJP

Ramesh Jarkiholi,  who was dropped from the Karnataka cabinet in the cabinet expansion on Saturday, is said to be resign as MLA and also to Congress party, so that to join BJP. He was removed from the cabinet, alleging he was hobnobbing with BJP and in his place his brother Satish Jarkiholi was inducted into the cabinet.

Ramesh Jarkiholi is said to be upset after he was dropped from the Cabinet. He is consulting with his supporters in Congress party. In an audio clip widely shared on social media , he was  seen suggesting that he would resign along with some other MLAs. But he would not reveal their numbers, he tells a follower. He is heard as saying that the decision would be implemented in a week or so.

Meanwhile, another senior Congress leader and seven-time MLA Ramalinga Reddy was also upset with cabinet expansion, as he was not get a cabinet berth. He was home minister in Siddaramaiah’s cabinet. He had blasted the State Congress leadership saying that different set of rules were followed for different leaders in the party while undertaking Saturday’s Cabinet expansion exercise.

Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha M. Mallikarjun Kharge has also expressed displeasure over the coalition government not giving ministerial berths to legislators from Kalaburagi district.
