VVIP Chopper Scam: ‘ED’s Statement Proves National Security Was Compromised Under UPA Rule’

BJP seems to be jubilant with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) informed the Delhi’s Patiala House Court that the alleged middleman in the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scam, Christian Micher, has named UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. In view of the Congress president Rahul Gandhi is making Modi’s regime `defensive’ by raising Rafale deal since last one year, the BJP finding it as a golden opportunity, just 100 days ahead of 2019 polls, to push Congress to a corner.

Referring to ED’s revelation, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar claimed that Congress regime was a government of corruption that compromised with national security. “Revelations by ED show that there is ‘son of Italian lady’, ‘big man’ and ‘R’ involved. It points towards a family. Congress government was a government of corruption that compromised with national security,” he added.

On the other hand, the Congress accused the Narendra Modi government of misusing central agencies to malign the Gandhi family. Congress leader Ratnjit Pratap Narain Singh said that as 2019 polls are not far away, the BJP is devoid of any issue shamelessly misusing and abusing central agencies to malign the Gandhi family.

“It is already known that Michel was being pressurised to do so even before he was extradited to India,” he added citing Michel advocate’s July 17 statement, saying the Modi government is forcing Michel to sign a false confessional statement naming Sonia Gandhi in return for complete exoneration.
