Prime Minister Narendra Modi today congratulated his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on registering a landslide win in the general elections, which were held yesterday and assured her of India’s continued support to the country’s developmental strides.
According to Hasina’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim, Modi had a telephonic conversation with her following the results. During the talks, Modi said that “Hasina’s victory was the reflection of Bangladesh’s stunning development under her dynamic leadership.”
It may be recalled that during her tenure, Bangladesh have been cultivating good and cordial relationship with India. Particularly, during Narendra Modi’s term, two countries able to resolve several long pending issues and also working together against terrorism and other related problems of the region.
Her government also taking stern steps from preventing her soil to be used as a base for Indian operated terror activities.
