VHP says Hindus can’t wait till eternity for court decision on Ram Temple

While, the RSS has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stand that his government will wait till the judicial process is over in Supreme Court with regard to construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) today warned that Hindus cannot wait forever for the Ram temple.

It reminded the Prime Minister that the issue has been pending in the courts for decades and it is time for the government to enact a law facilitating the temple’s construction.

Strongly disappointing with Prime Minister’s stand, VHP working president Alok Kumar today asserted that the only way forward is to enact a legislation and clear the way for construction of the Ram temple.

The Hindu society cannot be expected to wait till eternity. He said that the Ayodhya title case has been pending in courts for past 69 years. Appeals have been pending since 2011. This has been a long wait, he added.

Ignoring Prime Minister’s stand, Alok Kumar said that VHP would continue its campaigns and “try to convince the PM” and members of Parliament. “VHP will continue to campaign for construction of the Ram temple. Further strategy will be decided by sants at the dharam sansad (religious parliament) on January 31 during the Kumbh Mela,” added.
