BJP’s crucial allay Shiva Sena today came out praising former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Referring to the forthcoming biopic on him, “The Accidental Prime Minister”, he said that Singh was not an accidental Prime Minister, but asserted he was a `successful; Prime Minister.
Commenting on the ongoing controversy surrounding the former prime minister in the wake of on his biopic, Shiva Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that he don’t see him as an `accidental Prime Minister’, if a Prime Minister governs the country for 10 years and the people respect him even now
He asserted that he sees him (Dr Manmohan Singh) as a successful prime minister rather than an ‘accidental’ one. It may be recalled that a couple of days ago, the Madhya Pradesh unit of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), student wing of the Congress, has warned theater owners that they will be responsible for the consequences if they screened the film.
The biopic’s trailer shows Singh as a victim of the Congress’ internal politics ahead of the 2014 general elections. Actor Anupam Kher, who is essaying Singh’s role in the film, called “The Accidental Prime Minister” his ‘life’s best performance’. He also said the film should be seen as a creative endeavour and not an attempt to support a political party. The movie is all set to hit the silver screens on January 11.
