Giving a big jolt to Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banarjee, ahead of Lok Sabha polls, its MP Saumitri Khan today quits the party and joined BJP in the presence of its chief Amit Shah in New Delhi.
The 36-year-old young leader said that like him, there are several young leaders in his state who are having faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Mohan and likely to follow him.
Later speaking to media person he lametned Mamataj’s regime alleging that there is no democracy in the state and police raj is prevailing. He was earlier MLA also.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan made announcement of his joining BJP in the presence of another former TMC leader Mukul Roy, who had joined BJP in 2018. Stating that there is favourable environment for BJP in Eastern parts of the country, he expressed confidence that it will provide a strong piller for Modi government to return back in 2019 polls.
Mukul Roy indicated that atleast four more TMC MPs are ready to join BJP.
