Uproar as a women’s duppata seen on Siddaramaiah’s hand

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah today caught in a video on wrong side while `misbehaving’ with a women party leader. He lost his cool, snatched away myke from her hand and in the process of pushing her to go away her duppata slipped into his hands.

This video gone viral on social media has created uproar. Immediately, taking is as a objectionable behaviour, the National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma sought officials a report and directed them to file a case against the former chief minister.

Siddaramaiah was present at his son’s constituency Varuna, in Mysuru and holding a meeting with group of leaders. Local Congress party leader  Jamila, the lady seen in the video complained about revenue department workers. When Siddaramaiah asked if your MLA is reachable or not, the lady said that she has not seen the MLA since he won the election.

The lady banged the table and said that MLA is nowhere to be seen. Siddaramaiah asked her to behave properly but the lady continued to complain. That’s when Siddaramaiah lost his cool and snatched the microphone from her hand. However, her dupatta also slipped and came in his hand.

Reacting to the incident,  Union Minister and senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar said, “Rahul Gandhi should tell what he’ll do with him. This is a crime, the way he abused her. That’s how they see women, they haven’t changed since the tandoor case. They only respect women from one family.”

However, Karnataka Pradesh Congress President Dinesh Gundu Rao  has defended Siddaramaiah. He said, “Sometimes when people start asking questions in a rough way and  after hearing them out when they don’t stop, you want to pull the mic. When pulling the mic the dupatta came along with. There was no such intention.”
