BJP exercise to involve public in manifesto preparation

The BJP has today  launched a month-long exercise called “Bharat ke mann ki baat, Modi ke saath”, seeking suggestions from the public before the party prepares its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

BJP president Amit Shah and Home minister Rajnath Singh, who is also the head of the party’s manifesto committee, have launched the initiative. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to Twitter to announce the programme. He said that it is an effort to get citizen’s feedback.

Shah during the launch event urged people to help the party to fulfill its dream on a New India. The first person to give suggestion was a waiter at the hotel where the event was held.  Over the next few weeks,  around 300 vehicles, with around  7,700 boxes will move across the country collecting suggestions from common people. Moreover, social media and telephonic communication will also be used.

Rajnath Singh said that never before such a massive programme was launched in the country for preparation of any parties’ manifesto.

In a statement, BJP’s media head and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni said they are starting this  programme with the belief that it will prove to be the biggest cooperative exercise to draw outlines for a country’s future.
