SIT to probe audio tapes involving BS Yeddyurappa’s poaching attempt

Causing a major embarrassment to BJP, which has been allegedly attempting poaching ruling coalition MLAs under “Operation Lotus” to put an end to the present Karnataka government, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy today announced to constitute Special Investigating Team (SIT) to probe into the audio tape.

The tape was used by the Chief Minister, last week, to `expose’ how BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa has been attempting to lure JD(S) and Congress MLAs, so that to ensure fall of this government during budget session of the Assembly.

In this audio tape, Yeddyurappa was heard of offering big amount and also ministerial position to a JD(S) MLA, if switches side. As in that audio, speaker K R Ramesh Kumar name was dragged, the speaker felt uneasy and today in the assembly advised the state government to conduct a detailed probe into the audio tape.

The CM promised to constitute a SIT to probe the case. During the first hour of the session, minister of rural development, law and parliamentary affairs Krishna Byre Gowda initiated the debate on the audio tape and urged the speaker to discuss it.

Last Friday, hours before he submitting budget in the Assembly, Kumaraswamy had released two tapes allegedly of the BJP state president trying to lure JDS MLA Naganagouda through his son Sharana Gouda with the promise of money and position.

The former chief minister had initially dismissed the tape as “fake” and a “concocted story”. But, yesterday, he admitted that it was his voice on the clip, but accused Kumaraswamy of writing the script for the recording.
