Maoist Leader Sudhakar, His Wife Surrender Before Telangana Police

Top CPI (Maoist) leader B Sudhakar, hailing from Nirmal in Adilabad district of Telangana, along with his wife Madhavi surrendered before the Telangana police. The move is expected to affect the movement in Bihar and Jharkhand as he was the Eastern Regional Bureau member. He was known for his capabilities in taking up military operations.

The 50-year-old Sudhakar, who is a out-lawed CPI (Maoist) Central Committee (CC) member, was in charge of the Bihar-Jharkhand special area committee. He was also ‘guru’ to key Maoist leader Takalapalli Vasudeva Rao alias Ashana who trained Maoists cadres in military intelligence and action team missions such as the assassination of legislators and senior police officials.

Sudhakar was carrying a reward of Rs 25 lakh on him. His wife Madhavi, who is also a top Maoist leader and member of Bihar and Jharkhand, was carrying a reward of Rs10 lakh on her. There was confusion whether Sudhakar and Madhavi surrendered before the Jharkhand or Telangana police.

He is known by several aliases, including Satwaji, Oggu Buriyari, Sharad and Kiran. The arrest of Sudhakar’s brother B Narayana along with another person near a railway station by Ranchi police in 2017 revealed that he had invested money in real estate.
