BSP chief says BJP in UP, Congress in MP examples of “state terror”

Equating both BJP government in Uttar Pradesh and Congress government in Madhya Pradesh are examples of “State Terror”, BJP supremo Mayawati today asked people to decide what is the difference between the Congress and BJP government.

Asserting that both the governments should be condemned, she recalled that how the Congress government in MP had slapped NSA against some Muslims for cow slaughter and 14 Aligarh Muslim University students had been booked for sedition in MP.

Her strong statement came after 14 Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students were booked for sedition on Tuesday night by UP government and the MP government imposed National Security Act on Muslims on charges of cow slaughter eaerlier in the month.

“Congress government in MP like BJP slapped atrocious NSA against Muslims for cow slaughter. Now the Uttar Pradesh BJP government has booked 14 AMU students under notorious sedition charges. Both are examples of state terror and condemnable,” she added.

In Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, 14 students, including the AMU students union chief, were booked under sedition charges after some students and a TV channel crew got into an altercation over reports of a visit by AIMIM lawmaker Asaduddin Owaisi.

In Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, authorities slapped NSA and jailed on three Muslim men for allegedly killing a cow in Khandwa earlier this month.

With one tweet, Mayawati sought to paint the Congress and the BJP with the same brush. It is worth noting here that the BSP and SP have given a cold shoulder to the Congress while forming an alliance in Uttar Pradesh.

The two also didn’t attend the swearing-in ceremonies of Congress Chief Ministers in Rajasthan, MP and Chhattisgarh where the grand old party formed the government in the December Assembly elections.
