The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi addressing at the unveiling of various development Projects, at Yavatmal, in Maharashtra on February 16, 2019.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reiterated that India will respond in “befitting manner” to the perpetrators of a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday, when 44 security personnel were killed. PM Modi asserted that “each drop of tears” will be avenged.

“India is a nation of new tradition and new policy. The world will experience this now,” PM Modi said at an event in Maharashtra’s Dhule, where he unveiled development projects adding, “This is a time of restraint, a time of sensitivity. This is a time of sorrow. But I want to assure every family of the martyrs that each drop of tear after Pulwama terror attack will be avenged.”

Referring to the surgical strike which the Indian Army carried out in 2016, PM Modi claimed, ‘security forces are capable of giving a befitting reply to the enemy’. “Bharat ki ye niti rahi hai ki ham kisi ko chedte nahin hai, lekin main fir saaf kar dun ki naye Bharat ko kisi ne cheda to wo chodta bhi nahi hai. Ye hamare surakshabalon ne pehle bhi kar dikhaya hai aur ab bhi koi kasar chodi nahi jaayegi,” PM Modi stated.

The Prime Minister further asserted that he understands the grief and the anger shared by the countrymen over the heinous attack and claimed that the sacrifice of the jawans will not go in vain. “We will always stand by those who sacrificed their lives. This is a time of grief,” he said, adding, “Ye sanyam ka, samvedanshilta ka, shok ka samay hai, lekin har parivar ko main ye bharosa deta hu, aapke aankhon mein jo aansun hain, un aansuon ka pura pura jawab liya jaayega.

Stating that Maharashtra was mourning the loss of its two sons, PM Modi said, “Terror organisations who have committed this crime, no matter how much they try to hide, they will be punished. Security forces have been given full freedom.”
