A month after facing a case of attempt to murder for allegedly assaulting his MLA colleague Anand Singh, during a brawl at a private resort in Bengaluru, Karnataka’s suspended Congress MLA JN Ganesh was arrested in Gujarat, earlier today.
Karnataka Home Minister MB Patil said that he was held by Karnataka police at 2 pm in Somnat, Gujarat, today and will be brought to Bengaluru tonight and will be produced before Ramnagar court tomorrow.
The Bengaluru police has been on the lookout for the ‘absconding’ Congress MLA since January 23. The party had also taken disciplinary action by suspending him and registering an FIR.
Ganesh and Anand Singh allegedly entered into a brawl at Eagleton Resorts on the city outskirts where the Congress MLAs were herded together to prevent them from BJP’s alleged poaching bid to topple the Congress-JDS government.
Besides attempt to murder, Ganesh, who was one of the MLAs reportedly under the BJP lens for desertion, has been charged with causing grievous injuries and threatening Singh.
