bengaluru 20 Feb: MSME Development Institute in association with Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) and Peenya Industries Association (PIA) today organized a day’s programme on Intellectual property rights (IPR) to help MSMEs as a major contributor to the manufacturing output, employment and export potential of the enterprise. This programme concentrated on bringing awareness to the MSMEs so that they can be prepared on the rights on their intellectual property so that they can use the tools develop, protect and leverage their innovative and technological potential.
The full-day programme was inaugurated by Shri M M Giri, President, PIA and presided by Shri B N Sudhakara, Director of MSME Development Institute, Bengaluru. The Guests of Honour were Shri Siddalingappa B Pujari, Joint Director, District Industries Centre (DIC), Bengaluru Urban, Shri Suresh Babu, Senior Branch Manager, NSIC, Dr. S K Murthy, Director – IP, Intel India, Bengaluru, Shri H M Arif, Secretary, PIA, Shri Srinivasa Arasanna, Senior VP, PIA, Mrs. Prof. Sangeetha Murali, MSRCL and other dignitaries.
The event touch based on various forms of IPR such as Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights, Designs, Trade Secrets, Industrial Designs, Geographical Indications, etc., that shall benefit MSMEs. On each subject, the reason required for the item, benefits of them, criteria required, the registration procedure, legal remedies, and examples were discussed.
