IAF aircraft crashed in Naslapur, pilot, co-pilot killed

Indian Air Force (IAF) today suffered a loss after a Mi-17 aircraft was crashed in Naslapur area of Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir. The pilot and co-pilot have been killed in the mishap that happened in an open field near Garend Kalaan village at 10.05 AM.

If the eye-witnesses are to be believed, a civilian has also been killed. The plane reportedly crashed due to a technical glitch. An eyewitness at the crash site in Budgam claimed that the crashed IAF Mig-21 was ‘a jet aircraft’.

The police have found two bodies at the crash site.  However, their identities have not been ascertained. As per SSP Budgam, IAF’s technical team will arrive at the crash site to carry out further probe.
