The DMDK, led by film star Vijayakanth has finally decided to settle in alliance with AIADMK, after resorting to hard bargaining with both Dravidian parties AIADMK and DMK. On its part, AIADMK has reportedly conceived to spare five Lok Sabah seats for it.
Already AIADMK has accepted to give 7 seats for PMK and 5 seats for BJP, among a total of 40 seats in both Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Though DMDK is still bargaining for a Rajya Sabha seat, AIADMK has refused for it.
This decision was taken at a meeting of the party senior leaders, chaired by DMDK founder Vijayakanth.
Puthiya Thamizhagam and the TMC, led by GK Vasan, have also been brought into the alliance. Whether they have agreed to contest on the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol is yet to be known.
IJK founder TR Pachamuthu had said that he was ready to contest on the ‘Two Leaves’ symbol. However, whether he would be given a seat is yet to be known.
