The AICC General Secretary and incharge for Uttar Pradesh (East) is all set to kick-start her campaign for ensuing Lok Sabha polls from Prayagraj, tomorrow. She is also expected to visit Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency Varanasi. According to Congress sources, her campaign starts from Prayagraj and continue upto Varanasi.
She is scheduled to visit the historic Anand Bhawan in Prayagraj. Meanwhile in Varanasi, she will be visiting temples including the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. She will also arrive at Mirzapur and pay obeisance at the Maa Vindhyachal Devi Temple.
After covering all the three regions, Priyanka will camp in Lucknow for a few days. During the period, she will take stock of poll preparedness and contribute in finalising the candidates for remaining seats in the crucial state. Till now, the Congress has released names of 11 candidates for the state.
The list which was released by the party on March 7 included the names of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi from Rae Bareli and Amethi, respectively. She had addressed her first political rally as AICC General Secretary, yesterday, in Ahmedabad in connection with AICC working committee meeting.
In her maiden speech, she accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of attempting to divide the people and playing with their emotions for political gains. She also urged the people to raise important issues plaguing the country and said that one has to think what one wants this election season.
