After losing career options in cricket world, Wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has reportedly searching for alternative career in politics, which may be so lucrative and also attractive like Cricket, if fortune helped him. His close aids confirmed that he has been looking for an opportunity to contest in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections from his home state Tamil Nadu.
It may be recalled that he was left out of the ongoing ODI series against Australia, and World Cup spot all but gone. He has reportedly sent letter to almost prominent political parties in his state, explaining his desire to contest in the elections and requesting them to give him their part ticket. He is ready to join whichever party gives him the ticket first.
Karthik was quite confident of making this World Cup having missed out on the previous 2 occasions. He did go as a tourist in 2007, as did the entire squad. But the probability of him making it to England has reduced drastically over the past few weeks.
His associates claim that he was confident to get a place in World Cup team till few months ago. But, they allege that `Cricket politics’ makes him to opt out and forcing him to seek alternate career.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has asked Karthik to start his own party and then join an alliance with Aaam Aadmi Party. “Koi to gathbandhan kare”, the Delhi Chief Minister said.
