An FIR has been registered against 150 people, including Union Minister Ashwin Kumar Choubey and BJP leader Rana Pratap Singh, under multiple sections of the IPC for “assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty” among other charges.
A day ago, Choubey could be seen having a heated argument with Buxar SDM K K Upadhyay after the government official stopped his convoy and attempted to apprise the Union Minister about election commission’s order. He was reportedly misbehaved with Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) KK Upadhyay in Bihar’s Buxar after he tried to stop his convoy that violated the model code for including vehicles more than the limited number allowed.
Choubey had continued to shout, “What’s the issue? Whose order is it. Send me to jail if you have to do something. This is my vehicle and you cannot seize it,” to the official who informed him that the EC’s order was to confiscate the vehicles and not the individual and they will look into it.
Later, speaking to media persons, SDM Upadhyay had said that action will be taken as per the provisions of law. “There was no permission for vehicles but it has been reported that there were many vehicles parked here at Zila Maidan. There were about 30-40 vehicles in the convoy and action will be taken over it,” he said.
Refusing to comment on Choubey’s language, he said, “His language is his concern. The case will be registered for every vehicle that was in the convoy.”
