Four BSF jawan killed in an encounter with Maoists in Chhattisgarh

Four Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were killed in an encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh on Thursday, police said.

Two other personnel were injured in the encounter, which took place in Kanker district, police said.

The incident comes just weeks ahead of the Lok Sabha election in the state. Maoists have given a call for a boycott of the election.State police and paramilitary forces have intensified anti-Maoist operations ahead of the poll.

Last week on March 28, At least four alleged Maoists were killed in an encounter with a joint team of the CRPF’s COBRA battalion, and the Chhattisgarh police force in Sukma district.
